Abstract

This study focuses on auditing the Information System for Thesis and Graduation Registration (SI-Rasida) at the State Islamic University of North Sumatra (UINSU) using the COBIT 4.1 framework. SI-Rasida is a crucial system for supporting academic administration processes, ensuring that thesis and graduation registrations run efficiently, transparently, and accurately. Given the importance of SI-Rasida, optimal management is necessary to avoid risks such as data breaches and operational disruptions. The COBIT 4.1 framework is used in this study to evaluate and improve IT governance in SI-Rasida. COBIT 4.1 offers comprehensive guidance in four main domains: Plan and Organize, Acquire and Implement, Deliver and Support, and Monitor and Evaluate. This study focuses on the Monitor and Evaluate (ME) and Deliver and Support (DS) domains. The research methodology employs a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collection through questionnaires distributed to UINSU students. The findings indicate that the maturity level of SI-Rasida is at level 4 (Managed and Measurable), with recommendations to reach level 5 (Optimized). The study's findings highlight the need for improvements in monitoring and evaluation, as well as updates to policies and procedures to ensure a more efficient and secure system. By implementing the recommendations from the audit results using COBIT 4.1, SI-Rasida is expected to better support academic and administrative processes and minimize existing risks. This study makes a significant contribution to the development of better IT governance in the academic environment, particularly at UINSU.
