JUKTISI is committed to maintaining an accurate, transparent, reliable, and trustworthy scholarly record through appropriate correction, retraction, and post-publication editorial procedures.

1. Correction and Retraction Policy Statement

Jurnal Komputer Teknologi Informasi Sistem Komputer (JUKTISI) recognizes that maintaining the integrity of the scholarly record is an essential responsibility of the journal, authors, reviewers, editors, and publisher.

Although manuscripts undergo editorial screening and peer review before publication, errors or concerns may occasionally become apparent after an article has been published. JUKTISI therefore provides procedures for handling post-publication issues in a transparent, fair, evidence-based, and responsible manner.

Depending on the nature and seriousness of the issue, the journal may publish a Correction, Retraction, or Expression of Concern, or determine that no editorial action is necessary.

2. Purpose of the Policy

This policy is intended to ensure that post-publication concerns are handled consistently and that readers can distinguish between legitimate corrections and publications that should no longer be considered part of the reliable scholarly record.

3. Correction Policy

A correction may be issued when an error in a published article affects the accuracy, clarity, completeness, or understanding of the article but does not invalidate the overall scholarly contribution.

Examples of Issues That May Require Correction

• Typographical or factual errors.
• Incorrect author information.
• Incorrect affiliation or institutional information.
• Incorrect ORCID information.
• Incorrect tables, figures, captions, or labels.
• Errors in data presentation that can be corrected without invalidating the study.
• Errors in formulas, references, or bibliographic information.
• Incorrect DOI or article metadata.
• Other substantive errors that do not invalidate the overall article.

5. Retraction Policy

Retraction is an editorial action used when a published article is determined to contain serious problems that substantially undermine its reliability, validity, or ethical integrity.

Retraction may be initiated by the journal, requested by the authors, or prompted by credible information from other parties.

Possible Grounds for Retraction

• Fabrication of data, results, participants, or other research information.
• Falsification or manipulation of research data or results.
• Plagiarism or substantial unattributed use of another person's work.
• Duplicate or redundant publication.
• Major methodological errors that invalidate the main conclusions.
• Serious errors in analysis or interpretation that invalidate the article.
• Serious authorship or contribution-related problems.
• Serious undisclosed conflicts of interest affecting the reliability of the work.
• Serious ethical violations involving research participants or research conduct.
• Unauthorized or inappropriate use of confidential or protected material.
• Other circumstances that substantially compromise the reliability of the publication.

6. Retraction and Author Responsibility

Retraction of an article does not automatically mean that every author involved in the publication committed misconduct.

The journal will distinguish, where possible, between errors, honest mistakes, research-integrity concerns, and intentional misconduct. Editorial notices will describe the basis for the action according to the evidence available to the journal.

7. Expression of Concern

JUKTISI may publish an Expression of Concern when there are substantial concerns regarding the reliability, integrity, or ethical status of a published article, but the available information is not yet sufficient to make a final editorial determination.

An Expression of Concern may be appropriate while the journal seeks clarification from authors, institutions, reviewers, or other relevant parties.

The notice may remain associated with the article until the matter has been sufficiently assessed and an appropriate editorial action is determined.

8. Post-Publication Issues

Post-publication concerns may be raised by authors, readers, reviewers, editors, institutions, researchers, or other parties who have credible information regarding a published article.

JUKTISI encourages concerns to be submitted with sufficient supporting information so that the editorial team can assess the matter fairly and efficiently.

The fact that a concern has been reported does not by itself establish that an article contains misconduct or requires retraction.

10. Requests from Authors

Authors should notify the editorial office promptly if they discover a significant error in their published article.

A Request Should Include

• Article title.
• Author name(s).
• DOI or article URL.
• Description of the identified problem.
• Relevant supporting evidence.
• Proposed correction, where applicable.

Submission of a request does not automatically result in a correction or retraction. The final editorial action will depend on the assessment and available evidence.

11. Retraction Notice

When an article is retracted, JUKTISI will publish a clear retraction notice that identifies the affected article and explains the reason for the editorial action as appropriate.

The retraction notice should be permanently associated with the original article record whenever technically possible.

12. DOI and Metadata Management

When a correction or retraction affects an article with a DOI, the journal will maintain the relationship between the article and the corresponding editorial notice.

Where applicable, relevant bibliographic and DOI metadata may be updated so that the scholarly record accurately reflects the article's current editorial status.

The DOI of a retracted article is not treated as a new publication simply because a retraction notice has been issued. The original publication record remains identifiable and traceable.

13. Maintaining the Published Record

JUKTISI aims to preserve the traceability of published research. Articles subject to correction or retraction should remain identifiable within the journal's archival and bibliographic system.

14. Research and Publication Misconduct

Where a correction or retraction concern involves possible research or publication misconduct, JUKTISI may request relevant explanations, documentation, or institutional information.

Possible concerns may include:

• Plagiarism.
• Fabrication.
• Falsification.
• Duplicate publication.
• Manipulation of figures or research results.
• Improper authorship.
• Undisclosed conflicts of interest.
• Unethical research practices.
• Misrepresentation of research findings.

The journal may communicate with relevant institutions or responsible authorities when appropriate and necessary to clarify serious concerns.

15. Confidentiality and Fair Process

JUKTISI will handle post-publication concerns responsibly and, where appropriate, maintain confidentiality during an editorial assessment or investigation.

Authors and other involved parties should be given an appropriate opportunity to provide clarification or relevant information before a final editorial action is determined, where circumstances permit.

Editorial decisions should be based on evidence and scholarly or ethical considerations rather than personal, commercial, or other inappropriate influence.

16. Appeals and Reconsideration

Authors may request reconsideration of an editorial decision when they can provide substantive evidence or information that was not adequately considered during the original assessment.

An appeal should clearly explain the basis for reconsideration and provide supporting evidence where available.

Appeals will be reviewed according to the journal's editorial procedures. The purpose of an appeal is to ensure that relevant evidence has been appropriately considered, not to bypass the journal's editorial process.

17. Important Editorial Principle

A correction, Expression of Concern, or retraction will not be issued solely because an allegation has been made.

JUKTISI will consider the available evidence, the nature and seriousness of the concern, the effect on the scholarly record, and relevant explanations before determining an appropriate editorial response.

If you identify a significant error, possible ethical issue, or concern regarding the reliability of a published JUKTISI article, please contact the editorial office and provide sufficient information and supporting evidence for assessment.
