Plagiarism Policy

 

JUKTISI is committed to maintaining academic integrity, originality, responsible authorship, and ethical scholarly communication in all published works.

1. Plagiarism Policy Statement

Jurnal Komputer Teknologi Informasi Sistem Komputer (JUKTISI) is committed to preventing plagiarism and other forms of inappropriate text reuse in scholarly publications.

All submitted manuscripts may be screened for similarity before publication. Authors are responsible for ensuring that their manuscripts contain original work, properly acknowledge sources, and comply with accepted standards of academic integrity.

2. Similarity Requirements

Overall Similarity

The total similarity index should be below 15%.

Single Source
<3%

Similarity from any single source should be below 3%.

Important: Similarity percentages are used as screening thresholds. A similarity report does not by itself establish whether plagiarism has occurred. Editorial assessment considers the context, source attribution, quotations, references, commonly used terminology, and the nature of the matched text.

The manuscript is submitted through the JUKTISI OJS platform.

The manuscript may be checked using an appropriate similarity-detection system.

Editors assess the similarity report and the context of detected matches.

The manuscript may proceed, require revision, or be subject to further investigation.

4. Forms of Plagiarism

Plagiarism may include, but is not limited to:

  • Presenting another person's ideas, words, data, figures, or results as one's own without appropriate attribution.
  • Copying substantial portions of text without proper citation or quotation.
  • Paraphrasing another source without appropriate acknowledgement.
  • Using another author's figures, tables, images, datasets, or other intellectual work without proper attribution or permission where required.
  • Submitting another person's work or substantially reproducing previously published work as original.
  • Engaging in inappropriate text recycling or redundant publication without proper disclosure.

5. Proper Citation and Attribution

Authors must properly acknowledge all sources used in the preparation of their manuscripts.

Direct Quotations

Directly quoted material must be clearly identified and appropriately cited.

Paraphrasing

Paraphrased ideas must still acknowledge the original source.

References

All cited sources should be appropriately listed in the reference section.

6. Author Responsibility

Authors are fully responsible for the originality and academic integrity of their submitted manuscripts.

Before submission, authors should:
  • Check the manuscript for inappropriate text similarity.
  • Ensure all borrowed ideas and statements are properly cited.
  • Ensure quotations are correctly identified.
  • Verify that references accurately correspond to citations in the manuscript.
  • Ensure that figures, tables, datasets, and other third-party materials are properly attributed.
  • Disclose relevant prior publication or overlapping manuscripts where applicable.

7. Action When Similarity Exceeds the Threshold

If a manuscript exceeds the journal's similarity thresholds, the editorial team may take one or more of the following actions depending on the nature and context of the detected similarity:

Revision Required

Authors may be asked to revise passages and improve citation or attribution.

Additional Explanation

Authors may be asked to explain substantial or unusual similarity findings.

Further Investigation

Suspected academic misconduct may be investigated in accordance with journal procedures.

8. Handling Suspected Plagiarism

When substantial evidence of plagiarism or other forms of academic misconduct is identified, JUKTISI may conduct an editorial investigation and request clarification or supporting information from the authors.

Depending on the findings, possible actions may include manuscript revision, rejection, withdrawal from consideration, notification of relevant institutions where appropriate, correction of a published article, or retraction of a published article in accordance with applicable editorial procedures.

9. Post-Publication Plagiarism

If plagiarism is identified after publication, JUKTISI may review the case and take appropriate corrective action based on the available evidence and the seriousness of the issue.

Possible post-publication actions include:
  • Correction of the published record.
  • Expression of concern where appropriate.
  • Retraction in cases meeting the journal's retraction criteria.
  • Notification of relevant parties or institutions when appropriate.

10. Editorial Integrity

Similarity screening is part of JUKTISI's editorial quality-control process. Editorial decisions are based on the overall scholarly quality, originality, methodological soundness, ethical compliance, and relevance of the manuscript, rather than on a similarity percentage alone.
